About Me
I’m Gail—and “simple” has never really been my lane.
Like most people, I’m a little complicated. I don’t fit neatly into boxes—and I’ve stopped trying to.
I’ve lived a full, layered life, and I’m doing my best not to separate the pieces. I did that for years, and it was exhausting.
At the core of who I am, I’m a follower of Jesus.
That comes first.
After that—family matters deeply to me.
Then the people in my life—friends, relationships, the ones I walk alongside.
And then comes the work.
I don’t always get that order perfectly right, but it’s the order I’m committed to striving for.
What I Do and How I Think
I’m a business owner, a former federal senior leader, a systems thinker, and someone who naturally sees how things connect—where they work, where they break, and how to make them better.
I’ve spent decades working in technical, strategic, and leadership roles, and today I use that experience to help people and businesses move forward in ways that actually work.
My experience includes the good and the hard.
The wins and the mistakes.
The parts that made sense—and the parts that didn’t.
All of it counts.
I’m also, by nature, a teacher. If I understand something, I tend to explain it, break it down, and help others make sense of it. If I don’t understand something, I’ll figure it out—and often end up teaching it anyway.
At the same time, just because I can connect patterns doesn’t mean I have everything figured out. I don’t.
I’m still learning like everyone else.
Neuroextra (ADHD)
I’m neuroextra—diagnosed with ADHD at 62.
That’s not an excuse for how I show up—it’s an explanation. It brought clarity to a lot of my life.
It impacts how I think, process, communicate, and act.
Sometimes that shows up as strengths:
- Pattern recognition
- Creativity
- Momentum
Sometimes it shows up as friction.
I’m responsible for all of it.
I’m still learning how to lean into what works and better manage what doesn’t.
Some days I do that well.
Some days I don’t.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one.
Faith and Perspective
My beliefs are rooted in my relationship with Jesus, guided by the Holy Bible and my understanding of what it teaches—along with my personal experiences.
My life has been influenced by many teachers, different church denominations, personal study, and how I’ve experienced God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in my life.
I’m not a theologian.
I’m still learning.
Still growing.
Still working through what I understand—and what I don’t.
At times, I may share why I believe what I believe and where that belief is based—not to change your mind, but so you understand me and where I’m coming from.
What you do with that is yours to decide.
A Quick Note on Perspective
I love the United States. I’m a patriot. I’m a veteran.
That doesn’t mean I ignore our history or pretend we’ve always gotten things right.
It means I love this country with a clear-eyed view—recognizing the good, the flaws, the progress, and the work still to be done.
In many ways, that’s how I see people too.
I don’t love them despite their imperfections.
I love them with them—fully aware, fully committed.
Where I’m Writing From Right Now
I recently walked through the loss of my mom.
She influenced a great deal of my life, and that loss is something I’m still walking through.
At times, that means what I write may carry more emotion, reflection, or weight. Other times, it may not.
That’s part of real life—and I’m not separating that out either.
How I Approach Life and Work
I’m less interested in titles and more interested in whether something actually works.
I help people and businesses:
- Think more clearly
- Remove friction
- Solve real problems
- Move forward with intention
One of my strengths is taking something messy—an idea, a system, a plan—and refining it into something that works.
At the same time, I know my own patterns.
I can carry a lot at once. My limitation isn’t capability—it’s capacity.
The more aligned and simplified things are, the more effective I become.
Final Thought
I’m not here to tell you how to live your life.
I’m here to live mine—openly, thoughtfully, and with intention—and invite you to walk with me.
Everything I share is shaped by:
- My faith
- My family and relationships
- A life that includes both the good and the hard
- And a mind that naturally looks for how things work
Not polished. Not perfect.
But honest, grounded, and moving forward.
The Proverbs and Profits Life
This space is where all of that comes together.
Faith.
Family.
Relationships.
Business.
Neuroextra thinking.
Grief.
Growth.
Real life.
Love.
I don’t believe these belong in separate boxes.
So I don’t write that way.
